Cariaco was created around a simple observation:

Cariaco was founded from a career spent working where engineering meets the reality of complex marine operations. Over time, a broader question emerged:
How can the experience gained from delivering complex marine projects be applied to the next generation of ocean technology, sustainable development and marine innovation?
Cariaco is the answer to that question. It brings together engineering discipline, project experience and systems thinking with an interest in the future of the ocean: renewable energy, marine technology, scientific collaboration and more sustainable ways of operating.

Francisco is a Chartered Marine Engineer with more than 25 years of international experience across marine engineering, offshore operations, project delivery and ocean technology.
His career began in Venezuela, gaining hands-on experience in offshore operations. He later progressed into engineering and senior project leadership roles across complex international construction projects for a major subsea contractor.
Alongside his professional experience, Francisco has developed a strong interest in ocean technology, marine science and sustainability, researching how emerging technologies and scientific knowledge can work with commercial marine operations to create practical solutions.
As Founder of Cariaco, he combines hands-on marine experience, engineering expertise, international project leadership and research to help organisations understand complexity, make better decisions and turn ideas into practical action.
